5 reasons to where your baby: benefits of babywearing with Lillebaby carriers

I’m sure by now you’ve heard that baby wearing is good for both you and your little one. There are plenty of studies out there that show that the more babies are held, the less they cry. That baby wearing aids in your baby’s development, both physically and emotionally. That it gives you the chance to form a deeper bond since you maintain a closeness through your day. These are all fabulous reasons to wear your baby! But it doesn’t have to be just about biology and psychology. There are plenty of practical reasons for baby wearing as well.

5 reasons to where your baby: benefits of babywearing with Lillebaby carriers

[ 1 ] Baby wearing makes you more mobile . When you’ve got your baby in the carrier, you don’t have to worry about negotiating steps, escalators, narrow aisles, or any other tight spaces (trendy little restaurants, I’m looking at you) with a stroller. Your escalator-loving toddler will thank you!

[ 2 ] Baby wearing keeps your hands free . When your baby (or toddler) just wants to be picked up, putting them in the carrier lets you keep checking items off your todo list: cooking, cleaning, that Kathy Smith step aerobics DVD that’s been collecting dust in your basement.

[ 3 ] Baby wearing means built-in exercise for you . Have you ever seen those speed walking enthusiasts with their two dumbbells in hand? Well you’ve just joined their ranks because you’ve got yourself your very own dumbbell strapped to your front (or back). And, better yet, your dumbbell continuously increases in weight all by itself so there’s no such thing as slacking on your fitness regime.

[ 4 ] Baby wearing saves your sanity (and your money!) when flying . Babies fly free until the age of two but if you’ve ever attempted to fly with a baby who only wants to sleep in his crib or car seat (Nicky: I’m looking at you, kid), flying is pretty much your worst nightmare unless you’ve bought an extra ticket and schlepped the car seat through the entire airport (a nightmare of its own). Babies who are used to sleeping in the carrier will easily fall asleep in there even on an airplane. Plus, since they’re attached to you, you can shut your eyes and feel assured that they’re doing alright. Isabelle was a carrier sleeper for the first year and a half of her life and it made flying with her a breeze!

[ 5 ] If you’re a dude, babywearing is a major chick magnet . Even more so than an adorable puppy, and that’s saying something. If you’re taking the kids to the playground on the weekend whilst your other-half gets a much-deserved break, give your ego a boost and go ahead and wear that baby!

My favourite carrier right now is the Lillebaby Complete Original (seen here in teal seahorses). It’s got you covered for the entirety of your baby wearing years, from newborn to 45 lbs. You have the option of wearing your child on the front, hip or back, the seat width is adjustable (so it can accommodate a small baby as well as a larger toddler), and the neck support panel can be raised to make the back higher. For parent comfort while using the front carry position, you can cross the straps behind your back and/or use the optional lumbar support pad to give your lower back a little extra support. Plus Lillebaby offers absolutely adorable matching doll carriers to turn your older child into a proud mini mama or papa. What’s not to love?

Reason number 4 alll the way, were a military family and I feel like we spend more time in an airport then at grocery stores 😂 Between caring car seats a double stroller and keeping track of a four-year-old and a baby ..baby wearing literally saves my life, specially when my husband can’t fly with me And I making a triple alone!

You are my hero! Travelling alone with two littles is crazy – I’ve done it a couple of times and I was a sweaty mess by the time I arrived. Once I even forgot my baby carrier haha oh many that was rough. I’ve never tried flying solo with two car seats – how do you do it? Trying to figure out a system for our winter (solo) trip to California.

Lol #5. My husband would agree with that one. My favorite thing about wearing my babies is definitely the convenience. xx

Baby wearing allowed me to participate in soccer with our 3 year old when my husband wasn’t able to make it out. Hands free is huge when you have a baby and a toddler! Plus, it’s a built-in work out when you can’t make it to the gym 😉

I just discovered your blog and I love it! I love wearing my baby for many reasons: it frees up my hands, it makes us more mobile, and more importantly, at that distance when she gazes at me and smiles like she’s head over heals in love with me, it brings me the greatest feelings of love in the world.
