As a work-at-home-mom, my days are never just one or the other. I’m not usually at work all day or at home watching my kids all day. Most of the time my day cycles between the two, back and forth. I’ll have an event in the middle of the day when my kids are napping and before and after I’m at home, we’re at the playground, or we’re running errands in the city. I want my clothes to be able to easily go from one to the other without having to bring along an extra outfit (or two) to change into. I’m already hauling around enough stuff, with camera equipment, diapers, snacks, extra kids clothes, and what not, so any piece of clothing that can pull double duty is a win in my books. My go-to outfit is usually a loose blouse or dress shirt paired with stretchy coloured denim. A great put-together look for a business meeting that works equally well for running after two little kids. With just a quick switch of accessories, this look takes you from the office to the playground and everywhere in between.
Outfit 1: Work Meeting
White denim is just so versatile. I love that you can dress it up or dress it down and it’s the perfect colour for spring. I’m wearing these crops from Reitmans and they are seriously the comfiest pair of crops I own. They move well but keep their shape all day long. I love the classic white and blue pairing with this wrap-chiffon blouse, also from Reitmans. I adore the bell sleeves (so fun!) and the wrap around detail means it’s nice and loose and hides any left over mommy tummy issues. Blush pink accessories make this look perfect for spring.
Outfit 2: Casual Playdate
I ditched the heels in favour of a pair of sneakers, swapped out my small crossbody for my favourite oversized diaper backpack, and I’m all set for a playdate with my kiddos. Stretchy denim is a must for me as a mom – with all the bending, picking up, and running after two tiny humans. Stretchy skinny jeans are like the acceptable-in-public form of leggings and we all know we’d rather just wear leggings all day long. (Insert winky face.) This blouse is nice and flowy and moves well, which is a must with young kids.
What’s your favourite work-to-home outfit for spring?
